Injection mould and IML automation manufacturer H. Müller Fabrique de Moules SA of Switzerland has enhanced its offering to the thin wall packaging market. Müller has been known as the world market leader in supplying moulds and automation for producing IML containers and lids for over 18 years.

Müller has been delivering high speed, highly adaptable, side entry takeout robots with stackers to the thin wall packaging market. “Our customers have been asking us for years to produce not only IML systems but also takeout robots”, said Udo Grober, CEO of Müller. The thin wall packaging market is continuing to automate their operations. The moulders are demanding high levels of flexibility so that one robot can easily run containers in a variety of sizes from 2 ounces up to 172 ounces. Müller has recently shipped its 8th take-out system.

The Müller high-speed robots have been designed for single face or stack mould applications with easy, quick change-out from one container size mould to another. The systems utilize a dynamic movement of the takeout arm that follows the movement of the mould and subsequently the ejected containers. Exploiting the latest servo motor technology and its experience with IML applications, Müller accomplishes intrusion times between 0.35- 0.7 seconds, depending on the size of the containers and the robot stroke. The stackers also offer the versatility to change stack height to accommodate different container heights.

Müller has developed a reputation of delivering highly reliable, durable, automation systems, that run within days of hitting the moulder’s production floor and delivered on-time. By year end Müller will have delivered over 530 IML systems worldwide. They will now expand these core attributes to the take-out robot market.
